This episode centers around the California Gulf, also known as the Sea of Cortez, with the aim of taking viewers on a journey through its exceptionally rich and distinctive ecosystem. Our objective is to highlight its global and local significance and showcase the uniqueness of the Gulf’s fauna, examining various factors such as geography, geology, oceanography, and biology. Additionally, we hope to bring attention to the challenges and dangers faced by this entire ecosystem over the past several decades, emphasizing the need to safeguard what many refer to as “the aquarium of the world.” To create this episode, we’ll be meeting with biologists, conservationists, oceanographers, and members of communities that rely on this ecosystem, such as fishermen, to gain insight into their perspectives.
